Health Care at Seabury

Your well-being is Seabury’s primary concern. Our mission is to provide an independent lifestyle with the finest health care available for your future. We offer our Life Plan Residents and Members a wide array of health services with an emphasis on wellness. Individual wellness plans are developed to promote successful aging.

Your Life Care Contract provides future health care in the Seabury Wellness Clinic, Assisted Living in The Views, Assisted Living in our Memory Support Center (Seabury Meadows), and Long-Term Nursing care in our on-site Health Center at no additional nursing care cost. You also have access to a full continuum of rehabilitation care. Our 60-bed long-term care floors — Brewer and Davis — and the Larus Center, a 12-bed short-term rehab space, offers state-of-the-art inpatient services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy.

In addition to Serving Seabury Life Plan Residents and Members, the Seabury Health Center is open to direct admissions from the community at large.

Seabury Wellness Clinic Physician Services

As a Resident in our Life Plan Community, you may use the services of your current physician or, if you prefer, you may use one of Seabury’s Board Certified Geriatric Physicians. You may also visit our health care professionals during scheduled office hours at the Seabury Wellness Clinic. Registered Nurses are available in the Wellness Clinic seven days a week for consultation, administration of medication, wellness counseling/health promotion and other services. Special screening clinics for blood pressure are held regularly as part of our commitment to your good health and well-being.

Assisted Living – The Views

As part of our continuum of care, Seabury offers long-term assisted living in The Views which is located in our on-site Health Center. Seabury’s own Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA) provides the supportive services needed in The Views and is licensed in the State of Connecticut. The Views also accepts non-Seabury residents.

The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury

This October, we are very proud to announce the grand re-opening of The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury (formerly The Meadows Memory Support Center).

The Waterman bridges the gap between traditional Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing at Seabury, providing care for Residents who need extra support with daily living activities, including memory care support, but don’t yet require full-time nursing care.

Skilled Nursing Care

Twenty-four hour, state-licensed skilled nursing is available in Seabury’s Brewer, Davis & Larus Centers located in our on-site Health Center. Seabury provides the highest possible standard of nursing care and rehabilitative therapies by providing excellence in personalized service. All care is overseen by Seabury’s Board Certified Geriatric Physicians. Each resident is treated with dignity and respect in a warm and friendly and secure surroundings. Seabury Skilled Nursing is licensed by the State of Connecticut. Seabury Skilled Nursing accepts non Seabury residents.

Seabury Rehabilitation

Seabury has an on-site licensed Medicare-certified Rehabilitation Department that provides inpatient/outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies. Therapy can also be provided in one’s home by Seabury Visiting Nurses.

Services for Payment: Services provided through Seabury’s Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA) and Seabury’s Home Care Agency in your independent living unit are not considered part of the Life Plan Contract. Podiatry, Audiology, Mental Health, Social Services, Rehab Services, Therapeutic Massage, and Physician Services* are also not included in the Life Plan Contract.

*These services may be covered by Medicare, health insurance or private payment.

Seabury Care Now offers peace of mind and the security of knowing your loved one is receiving personal, high-quality care from reliable and qualified staff. Whether you live in a private home, an assisted living community or a skilled nursing facility, Seabury Care Now is available from two hours to 24 hours per day.  Our trained caregivers offer compassionate care and help with dressing, bathing, shopping and other activities of daily living.
