Seabury, Inc. and Pomperaug Woods, Inc. Announce Nonprofit Affiliation

Seabury, Inc. and Pomperaug Woods, Inc. are pleased to announce plans for a nonprofit affiliation that unites two mission-driven senior living organizations, sharing values, a commitment to excellence, and a dedication to serving older adults in Connecticut. 
 
Upon regulatory approval anticipated in April 2026, Seabury, Inc. will become the sole corporate member of Pomperaug Woods, Inc., which will continue to operate as a nonprofit Life Plan Community under the new name “Seabury at Pomperaug Woods.”

This affiliation ensures the long-term sustainability and strength of both organizations while preserving their nonprofit status, local leadership, and dedication to quality service. 

 
Under the affiliation: 
• Pomperaug Woods will maintain its local Board of Directors and leadership team, led by Executive Director Vicki Gyba. 
Seabury will provide strategic oversight, governance, and shared services through its nonprofit system. 
• Both organizations will remain 501(c)(3) nonprofits focused on quality, compassion, and integrity. 
• Residents and staff will experience no change to services, employment, or agreements as a result of the affiliation. 
 
Both organizations emphasize that this partnership is not a merger or acquisition, but rather a nonprofit membership affiliation designed to enhance mission alignment, collaboration, and long-term planning.
