Introducing The Waterman, Enhanced Living at Seabury
We proudly announce the grand re-opening of The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury (formerly The Meadows Memory Support Center).
The Waterman bridges the gap between traditional Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing at Seabury, providing care for Residents who need extra support with daily living activities, including memory care support, but don’t yet require full-time nursing care.
The name change honors the notable contribution made by Helen Granberry Waterman as a tribute to the late Rev. and Mrs. Stephen Henry Granberry, her parents. This contribution profoundly impacted the growth of Church Home of Hartford, Incorporated (CHHI) in the early 1960s.

Assisted Living with Memory Support Services
The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury (formerly The Meadows Memory Support Center), an Assisted Living community located on the Seabury campus, provides all the services of traditional assisted living but also caters to individuals who need specialized medical care. The Waterman Enhanced Assisted Living includes 24-hour nursing staff, more comprehensive medical services, rehabilitation services, and support for medical equipment such as oxygen and mobility devices. This level of care is the step between The Views Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury provides innovative care that promotes independence and social interaction while providing the added safety and security our residents require.
The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury community consists of 48 private and 4 semi-private rooms with full baths. These resident homes comprise four “neighborhoods,” each with a living room, activity room, and country kitchen. The neighborhoods surround a Town Square where residents can enjoy the Technology/Media Room, Beauty/Barber Shop, Café, and Chapel. Garden terraces in beautifully appointed courtyards afford residents a secure environment for walks, visits with family members, and outdoor activities. The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury offers an extensive calendar of programs designed to enhance and stimulate the residents’ memory. In addition, social, spiritual, fitness wellness, and recreational programs are provided for our residents.
The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury is licensed by the State of Connecticut. The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury employs specially trained staff knowledgeable and compassionate in providing care in an assisted living environment, including the dementia-specific care they provide to residents with those needs. Relationships build as the staff becomes an essential extension of the resident’s family. Each resident is treated with dignity and respect in warm, friendly, and secure surroundings. Seabury staff provide personalized service and compassion for every one of our residents.
The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury offers family members ongoing support and education in understanding Alzheimer’s and related memory loss diagnoses. Families and friends receive a newsletter detailing the month ahead at The Waterman Enhanced Living at Seabury each month.
