Nestled on a lovely hillside on the former A. C. Petersen dairy farm in Bloomfield, CT, with vistas in every direction, Seabury enjoys the perfect location. Surrounded by over 150 pastoral acres, yet convenient to so many points of interest, Seabury is located just north of Hartford, between New York and Boston. Although in a country setting, Seabury is just minutes from the major highways of Interstates 91 and 84, and Bradley International Airport (BDL) is 10 minutes north off Interstate 91.

Rich Cultural Experiences

With the centers of Hartford, West Hartford and the Farmington Valley just a short distance away, members of the Seabury community have the advantage of a rich cultural experience. Hartford Symphony, Hartford Stage, Wadsworth Atheneum, Bushnell Theater, Infinity Music Hall, the Connecticut Science Center, the Mark Twain House and Museum, Hill-Stead Museum, Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, the New Britain Museum of Modern Art, the Talcott Mountain Music Festival, Xfinity Theatre and many smaller artistic venues are some of the many attractions available to you.

Further from Seabury, but still close enough to enjoy for an afternoon or evening outing, are musicals at the Goodspeed Opera House, the Longwharf Theater, the Toyota Oakdale Theater, the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Yale Museum of British Art, the Florence Griswold Museum, Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium.

There are a myriad of attractions west of Seabury in Litchfield and the Berkshires; for example, the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA, and Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Connecticut also has many wonderful State Parks to enjoy.

The Greater Hartford area provides a multitude of shopping in both local malls and areas featuring numerous specialty shops. The area is filled with a rich variety of restaurants and is well known for both gourmet and casual fare.

Seabury has a nationwide reputation of being on the cutting edge of fitness and wellness. At Seabury, fitness is a way of life. The philosophy behind the program is individualized, safe, and effective programs for all levels of fitness. Our extensive Fitness & Wellness Center features state-of-the-art Helsinki University Research (HUR) air-resistance equipment and Keiser pneumatic strength training machines, as well as a full line of cardiovascular equipment.

Our team of certified fitness professionals lead a full range of group fitness and aquatic classes which change quarterly and are designed around the needs and requests of our community. All of Seabury’s fitness programs emphasize balance and functional strength as those are key to staying well and active. The fitness and wellness team is also available for Personal Training. Fitness as a Way of Life

Seabury incorporates fitness and wellness into daily life. Beyond our formal exercise classes and training, many of our programs have significant fitness components including our biennial Seabury Games and Seabury Spirit Week. We have bocce tournaments, pool tournaments, walking and hiking groups, and our Annual Charitable Golf Tournament. Our 66 picturesque acres and four-plus miles of trails are available for your enjoyment. Seabury is located close to facilities for tennis, golf, and more.

Educational Opportunities

Educational opportunities are abundant with many colleges and prep schools in the immediate area. Seabury has many college level courses from which to choose, offered right on our campus. Sports Abound

Sports abound in the Greater Hartford Area, whether for spectator viewing or active participation. The University of Connecticut (UConn) men's and women's basketball teams of the Big East Conference have a devoted following and have won 15 combined national championships. The UConn football team is an FBS Independent and plays its home games at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League plays at the XL Center in Hartford. The International Skating Center in Simsbury is where Olympic stars are made, and the PGA Tour's Travelers Championship is held at TPC River Highlands in nearby Cromwell. Whether you are looking for down hill or cross country skiing, tennis, golf, paddle tennis, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming or boating, there are a multitude of sports/recreational opportunities available.

Seabury has extensive walking trails, and many nature preserves and parks are located nearby. A pool, spa, fitness center with strength and aerobic machines, fitness classroom, dance and Pilates studios and therapeutic massage suite are part of Seabury's "wellness for life" initiative.
